The LHS Foundation
Everything we do for young people at Hog Heaven lives under one roof: the LHS Foundation, established with Hank and Lyssa Seale. Its charge is simple. Build character, discipline, and a lasting respect for hard work and the natural world through the shooting sports and the outdoors that surround them.
No single program can carry that mission alone, so the Foundation gathers several: a full-time school on our campus, the Hill Country's competitive youth shooting teams, our own classes and clinics, and the collaborations between them. One initiative, many doors in.
A School on Campus
Waypoint Academy, an Alpha Specialty school that combines nature-based workshops with an innovative academic model, hosted on the Hog Heaven campus.

Waypoint Academy
If one idea leads youth education at Hog Heaven, it is this one. Waypoint Academy is built on a simple belief: kids need more than academics to become capable adults.
Students master core academics each morning, then head outside, where 120 acres of Hill Country become the proving ground for real challenges, problem-solving, teamwork, and the grit that comes from doing hard things.
Through archery, navigation, field craft, land stewardship, building, and outdoor challenges, students learn to take responsibility, make decisions, lead others, recover when things go wrong, and carry their weight.
Waypoint pairs rigorous academics with something increasingly rare: the opportunity to become genuinely capable.
A Model Making National News
Waypoint is built in partnership with Alpha School and uses its 2 Hour Learning model to power the academic day — the same adaptive learning engine behind Alpha’s schools nationwide. That partnership brings a proven academic model to Waypoint while leaving the rest of the day for everything the great outdoors at Hog Heaven makes possible.
Alpha provides the academic engine. Hog Heaven provides the environment where students put it into practice.

Youth Teams
Two competitive teams practice here year round, run by their own coaches and open to young shooters from across the Hill Country, with a third on the way.
Youth Shotgun Team
Hill Country Clay Shooters is the only youth clay shooting team in Austin and one of the top youth teams in the nation. They practice weekly at Hog Heaven and travel to regional and state competition, with an emphasis on sportsmanship, responsibility, and teamwork.
